Automatically start an Office program when you turn on your computer
For Windows XP
- Make sure dragging and dropping is enabled for the Windows Start menu.
How?
- Right-click Start, and then click Properties.
- In the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties dialog box, click the Start Menu tab.
- Click Customize.
- In the Customize Start Menu dialog box, click the Advanced tab, and then select the Enable dragging and dropping check box in the Start menu items list.
- On the Windows Start menu, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft Office, and then point to the Office program you want to automatically start.
- Drag the the Office program to rest over the Startup folder on the Start menu. When the Startup folder displays a list of programs, point to where you want the Office program to appear, and then release the mouse.
For Windows 2000
- On the Windows Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Taskbar & Start Menu.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Click Add, and then click Browse.
- Locate the program you want to automatically start, and then click it.
- Click OK.
- Click Next, and then locate and double-click the Startup folder.
- Type the name that you want to see on the menu, and then click Finish.
